  19. I would spend $110 or so on an 8M SIMM (or 2 4M SIMMs, for $120 or so
  20. total).  Aside from that, I'd make sure the VL card is a good one; if
  21. not, I'd buy a Stealth64 VRAM (or DRAM if you stick to lower
  22. resolutions and fewer colors).  I would never touch the CDROM unless
  23. you need it for continual-access games (only).  The processor /
  24. motherboard could be upgraded for cheap if you -really- wanted to, but
  25. for now I don't think there's a business reason for it.  Sure, a P120
  26. will be faster, and it's inexpensive these days, but in a few months
  27. or a year it will be even cheaper and you can upgrade then if you
  28. decide you really want to.

  30. Summary:  RAM.  That's all I'd worry about now if you believe it's so
  31. slow.  I'd also ascertain the PERFORMANCE option is fine (that it
  32. isn't telling you anything is wrong with your machine.)
